Amusement park expansion

Copenhagen, Denmark

The master plan aspires to maintain the 19th Century charm of the world’s first amusement park while accommodating contemporary urban conditions, particularly, the reinforcing of its southern urban edge. The new 1,400 ft stretch of the southern perimeter adds 300,000 square feet of new retail dining, nightlife, recreational, cultural and educational spaces to Tivoli Gardens for the continued sustenance of Copenhagen’s biggest attraction. New elements include added entrances, a tower restaurant with rentable dining rooms of variable sizes accessed by chefs and servers via glass elevators at the exterior, a Nike store with multiple turf-testing lanes and an escalator exhibition space, and amusement rides with intersecting bars and restaurants.
